Full Eye Exam
A full eye exam includes comprehensive vision testing to determine your current prescription for glasses, and a thorough eye health check including diagnostic tests for glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
Exams for Children
Children as young as six months of age can be tested and by age three all children should have their first exam. Children do not need to read the eye charts or verbally respond during the exam.
Emergency Eye Care
Foreign body removal, pink eye, sudden vision changes, the onset of "flashes" or "floaters", eye injury, etc.
Dry Eye Therapy
Silicone punctal plug occlusion therapy for dry eyes as well as nutrional consults for vitimin supplentations.
Laser Eye Surgery Assessment
To see whether a paitient is a good candidate for PRK surgery which includes a full examination along with corneal thickness measurements
IFH / Blue Cross
Individuals with valid status cards are covered for one full examination every 24 months.
Vision Therapy
Treatment of lazy eye and reduced vision with special vision aids and vision training.
Occupational /Specialty Examinations
If you are applying for a position that has vision requirements or are working in a field that requires you to maintain certain vision standards, we can provide you with the testing that you need. For eg. Ministry of Transportation (MTO) forms for drivers licence renewal. Example occupations with vision standards include pilots, military, police officers, firefighters and professional drivers.
Visual Field Exam:
The visual field exam measures the size of your field of vision, or side vision. Visual field testing is most frequently used to detect any signs of glaucoma damage to the optic nerve. In addition, visual field tests are useful for the detection of central or peripheral retinal disease, eyelid conditions such as ptosis or droopy eye lid, optic nerve disease, and diseases affecting the visual pathways within the brain. The visual pathways carry information from the eye to the visual or occipital cortex in the brain, where this information is processed into vision.
Retinal Photography Exam
The test is fast becoming the cornerstone in monitoring ocular health in the industry. Our doctors highly recommend the test during your annual examinations, and it is particularly important for people with a history of high blood pressure, diabetes, flashing lights, headaches, retinal disease, glaucoma, macular degeneration or for those with a high prescription
Contact lenses
We provide a variety of options in the fitting of contact lenses for our patients, in spheres, astigmatic and bifocal lenses. Our doctors can expertly fit your prescription for maximum eye health. The fitting will will help determine which contact lenses are best suited for you depending on your visual needs and lifestyle. Also, we retail CIBA Air Optyx contact lenses which allow much more oxygen to the eyes as compared to the previous generation of lenses.
A complete contact lens exam includes :
•Measurement of curvature of cornea
•A pair of contact lens trials
•Teaching of insertion and removal of contact lenses for new lens wearers
•Follow-up appointments to make sure contacts are comfortable and vision is good. In some cases, the prescription and fitting of the lens requires fine tuning.
