Hello! And Welcome to my practice. I wanted to introduce myself and let you know a bit about me.
I grew up in Scarborough and went to The University of Toronto for my undergraduate BSc Specialist degree in Human Biology. Then I decided to explore “"the big apple”" and headed down to New York City and attended the State University of New York College of Optometry in Manhattan.
I joined this practice in 2007 as an associate and became an owner in 2010. I believe in this practice and I want it to continue to be the type of practice where my patients can expect quality care. We pride ourselves on being a patient oriented practice. We use the latest technology and equipment to conduct a full eye examination, which yes, does include dilatation! I understand how uncomfortable this is but it really is a key part of a full eye examination, so even though you don't like it, please let me put those drops in! Lol
We believe in a community concept to healthcare and as such I am in close contact with a variety of family physicians in the area as well as specialists and do regularly write reports to keep the family physicians in touch with what is happening with your eye healthcare. I have seen direct results of our “focus” as our patients come to us from around the city and bring their families with them too.
I do practice a full scope Optometry which means that we have a wide variety of services for our patients as you have seen on the site. Undergoing my Optometric education in NYC allowed me to see a wide variety of diseases and conditions affecting the health of the eye and so I feel very strongly the importance of eye examinations and care of our population with diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure. However, I do enjoy seeing all age groups from infants to the elderly and have a special place in my heart for children. It is imperative that we do regular eye examinations for children. Poor vision is one of our society's biggest challenges to learning and this is heartbreaking because it is also one of the most treatable or avoidable challenges.
We try our best to provide the most comprehensive care possible and so alongside English, I do speak Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu fluently and my associates and staff members are also fluent in these languages.
Thanks for visiting our website and I am definitely looking forward to meeting you and your entire family in person!
I hope that you find it informative and interesting. If you have any questions please email us or give us a call and we’d be happy to help answer them.
